The Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious Technical QA Backend Engineer with DevOps capabilities who can bridge the gap between testing, infrastructure, and development. This role is for engineers who want to go beyond traditional QA, blending technical testing expertise with infrastructure insights and modern development practices and sees each assignment as an opportunity to learn, improve, and innovate.
The successful applicant would be required to attend site for at least 2 days in the Bruges office.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive functional and technical test plans for backend systems and infrastructure based on detailed specifications to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Proactively identify, report, and monitor bugs and technical issues to facilitate timely resolutions and maintain product integrity
• Conduct detailed analysis of system behaviors, investigating performance bottlenecks and potential security vulnerabilities through a blend of manual and automated testing methodologies
• Debug technical issues across diverse system environments
• Validate system architecture components including API integrations, networking, and security implementations
• Contribute to infrastructure improvements and automated deployment processes
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure robust system design and implementation
• Ensure results are delivered promptly in line with release schedules and deployment plans, supporting the overall project timeline.

• Have a solid foundation in technical or analytical QA or DevOPS roles (min 2 years of experience)
• Demonstrate rapid learning and skill acquisition

• Communicating in English is no challenge for you
• Proven adaptability in dynamic (Agile) work environments

1.Technical Infrastructure & Networking Prerequisites:

• Foundational knowledge of networking principles (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS)
• Basic understanding of SSL/TLS certificates and security protocols
• Proven ability to learn complex technical systems quickly
• Practical knowledge of rate limiting, load balancing, and API gateway concepts
• Experience with debugging distributed systems and analysing system logs

2. Development & Testing Requirements:

• Proven experience in writing, executing and maintaining both manual and automated tests
• Demonstrable experience with at least one programming language (C#, PowerShell, Java, Python, …)
• Proficiency in writing SQL and complex database queries
• Experience with API testing and tools like Postman, ReadyAPI, or similar

3. DevOps & Tools Expectations:

• Comfortable working in command-line environments (Linux/Unix)
• Basic understanding of containerization (e.g. Docker/Kubernetes) and orchestration concepts
• Experience with implementing process improvements in previous roles
• Eagerness to understand Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Become experienced with monitoring and logging tools
