Backend QA Engineer

We are currently looking for an experienced Backend QA Engineer who is passionate about technology. The successful applicant would be required to attend site for at least 2 days in the Bruges office.

The key focus of the role will be to read functional specifications of the new software features and analyze requirements documentation. The role includes but is not limited to:

• Create and implement comprehensive functional and technical regression test plans based on detailed specifications to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Proactively identify, report, and monitor bugs and technical issues to facilitate timely resolutions and maintain product integrity.
• Work closely with developers to evaluate proposed solutions and ensure alignment with quality standards and project goals.
• Execute a mix of manual and automated testing methods to validate functionality and performance.
• Assess test outcomes and generate insightful quality reports that inform stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to refining QA methodologies and overall Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Actively participate in daily stand-up meetings, sharing project status updates and collaborating with team members to address challenges.
• Ensure results are delivered promptly in line with release schedules and deployment plans, supporting the overall project timeline.

The ideal candidate has an analytical mindset and likes solving problems with colleagues from all over the globe. To be considered for the role we require you to have:

• Fluent in both oral and written English, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
• Solid understanding of DNS, IP addressing, routing, and troubleshooting network-related issues to ensure optimal connectivity and performance.
• Familiarity with SSL/TLS certificates and secure connection protocols to safeguard data transmission.
• Strong ability to debug complex systems and analyze logs to identify and resolve issues effectively.
• Proficient in Linux/Ubuntu command-line operations to manage and navigate various environments.
• Experienced with Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) for Windows and Secure Shell (SSH) for Linux, facilitating remote system management.
• Knowledgeable in Git and its concepts, enabling effective collaboration and version management in software projects.
• Strong SQL skills with experience in profiling and writing queries to manage and manipulate data efficiently.
• Competent in reading and writing basic code for testing purposes in languages such as C#, Python, JavaScript, and PowerShell.

• Able to analyze problems from multiple perspectives and generate innovative solutions.
• Possesses a solid foundation in programming principles, enabling effective development and troubleshooting.
